Oh yeah... Ridge Racer was amazing.
However... Back when I was playing Genesis I found what I think is the best BGM ever created for a racing game.. Period. I want to find the people who made the music for Lotus (Lotus II and III).
Here’s what I’m talking about.. wear headphones.

YES.
My favourites are Rare Hero from the first two games, and some of the Rage Racer tracks are also stuck in my head.

Gran Turismo 2 was pretty decent, too. There was something about driving the Challenger and having Rob Zombie cue up at random that just...flowed.

Respectfully, I offer that Top Gear on the SNES may just have it beat.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Also, Top Gear 2 is right up there. And these are just title tracks, the whole soundtrack to both games is fantastic.

I’ve played all of these and something about the epicness of the gameplay/BGM combination with the LOTUS games just doesn’t come close. The music would put you into an intense trance and focus.
